Family Pictures

Saturday, December 16, 2017

I always get excited for family pictures in the fall.  It's the one time we get a family picture with all of us in it and this year was the first time we got a picture of all FIVE of us! I also pray, hope, and cross my fingers that everyone smiles and listens and things go as planned. Apparently this year I didn't cross my fingers enough because mother nature decided it would be really neat to be windy and cold!

We had the pictures taken a little before Thanksgiving and it ended up being in the 20s with windchill that day. It was literally the coldest day ever. Okay, so obviously that's an exaggeration..but it felt like the coldest day ever! Not to mention it's supposed to be in the 50s multiple times this week and now it's December! I always loved winter as a kid, but I really don't mind mother nature's hot flashes she is having. 50s..when you don't have to help wrestle your kids to put hats and gloves on. It's like a mini-mom vacation only having to put a light jacket on!

If I had a dollar for every time Derek complained about getting our pictures taken before, during, and after I would be so stinking rich. I love him so much, but he definitely complained more than the boys did! Is it terrible of me that I gave my kids positive reinforcement by telling them they did better than their dad? I mean...it was kind of true, so? :)

I seriously can't believe how much Rhett has changed already since these pictures were taken in November. It's so sad how fast they grow and change but I also love seeing his little personality come out. He is so laid back and happy. My whole heart melts over and over again when I see any of the three boys smile or laugh.

Note: This isn't real snow. It's just our amazing photographer adding neat effects that makes it look like snow! We were already freezing so we might as well have had snow! Please send the nice snowman snow though. No one needs the light, fluffy stuff that doesn't stick together!

I'm so so happy with how they turned out. The boys did amazing and smiled great. We bribed them with good bar food and good friends. I tried bribing Derek but apparently the frostbite got to his brain. ;)

We ended up doing the bridge picture for our 11x14 picture frame on our gallery wall and the "snow" picture for our Christmas cards! Family pictures. Check! Only 11 months until our next family pictures! Better start giving the pep talk now!

Does anyone else do family pictures every year for their Christmas cards? I love looking back on pictures of our family when we were growing up and want the boys to have these to look back on too.

Thank you Sue for your patience, energy and creativity! Always so happy to have your pictures to hold on to and look back at!

xoxo
